For Pete's Sake

Broncos’ Jerry Jeudy fortunate to avoid ejection for outburst Sunday against Chiefs

The Chiefs rolled to a 27-point lead in the second quarter of Sunday’s game in Denver, and Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy was furious.

It wasn’t just the score that upset Jeudy. He was not happy about what he saw as a missed holding call on the Chiefs. Jeudy ripped off his helmet and screamed at an official and then bumped the official.

“On that certain play, I got held,” Jeudy told reporters after the game. “I was just frustrated because we didn’t have things going, so I was out there playing with frustration wanting to make a play for my team. I feel like at that point, I was just held and that should’ve been called, but I have to know how to control my anger and just move on from there.”

After that incident, Jeudy caught three touchdown passes as the Broncos clawed back into the game before ultimately losing 34-28.

Many people wondered if Jeudy should have been allowed to stay on the field after bumping the official or at least penalized. That includes NBC Sports’ Michael David Smith.

Here is what was being said about Jeudy’s outburst.
