‘They’re our daddies!’ Chargers fans crushed after another tough loss to the Chiefs
The Chiefs won their third straight game against the Chargers on Sunday night, winning 30-27 at SoFi Stadium.
It was Kansas City’s ninth consecutive victory on their AFC West rival’s home field.
In the last eight games between the teams, the Chiefs have won six times.
Sense a pattern here?
The Chargers seemed to be in a good position to get the win when they scored a touchdown with 1 minute 46 seconds left in the game. That gave L.A. a 27-23 lead.
But the Chiefs roared back, moving the ball 75 yards in 75 seconds, with Patrick Mahomes’ 17-yard touchdown pass to Travis Kelce giving Kansas City the victory.
For Chargers fans, it was a familiar and awful feeling. Here’s what they were saying after the game on Twitter and Facebook.
A Chargers fan wrote on Facebook: “Kelce owns the Chargers. Period.”
Another shared this: “Guys we are in the twilight zone, I’ve watched this game 100 times in my life”
“Anyone really think they were going to keep them out of the end zone with almost 2 minutes left? Haha. I swear they hire new coaches but just hand down the same ol playbook,” a Chargers fan wrote on Facebook.
Another shared this: “This team disappoints week in and week out. so sick of the heartbreak every single game”
A fan on Facebook wrote: “Same old chargers… they belong in the WWE, they give a good show but no W’s”
