CBS broadcaster had pizza delivered to KCI because of the lack of food options
It was 50 years ago Friday that Kansas City International Airport first opened for commercial travel, and so it is due for a face-lift.
The new single terminal is set to open at the airport in the spring, and for some travelers it can’t come soon enough. The terminal will have more food options, and CBS Sports’ Tracy Wolfson will certainly be happy.
Wolfson was at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday as CBS Sports’ top-broadcast team called the Chiefs’ 27-17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. But when she was leaving Kansas City that night, Wolfson was forced to order from Domino’s while at the airport.
A Twitter user shared a video of Wolfson with the pizzas and wrote: “When @tracywolfson Door Dashes pizza because the Kansas City airport has no food”
Wolfson retweeted that video and also wrote about the lack of food options at KCI.
“True story!” she tweeted. “When your hungry at the KC airport and they have no food-@dominos comes thru!”
Domino’s said it was planning to give Wolfson a treat for the shout-out.
“Hey @tracywolfson, this was just ‘plane’ (sorry, had to) amazing – thanks for taking care of the KC community!” the company tweeted. “The next one is on us. Check your Insta DMs for a little something from Domino’s”
There’s a good chance Wolfson and her broadcast partners Jim Nantz and Tony Romo will be back in Kansas City again — perhaps during the playoffs — so she will be prepared when at KCI.
