Many Raiders fans ready to move on from Derek Carr after Las Vegas blows another lead
The Raiders have been the antithesis of the Chiefs this season.
Where the Chiefs have shown a knack to rally for victories, the Raiders have already blown three advantages of 17 or more points. The third came Sunday when Las Vegas jumped to a 17-0 lead at Jacksonville behind quarterback Derek Carr.
At the half, the Raiders led 20-10 and Carr had completed 16 of 21 passes for 223 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Unfortunately for the Raiders, they didn’t score again and lost 27-20 to the Jaguars.
“There is a lot I want to say,” Carr said after the game, per the Athletic’s Vic Tafur. “But I don’t need to say it here, you know. There are things that need to be said and things that need to be addressed. The urgency part of it … after 30 minutes of football, we have to learn that the game is not over.
“There are things in-house that we will talk about man to man.”
Raiders fans seemed to find the person to blame: Carr. His second half stats: 5 of 15 passing for 37 yards.
After the game and into Monday, those Raiders fans roasted Carr, whose name was trending on Twitter. Fans are also furious with coach Josh McDaniel and owner Mark Davis, but much of the discontent is because of Carr.
Here is a sample of what Raiders fans were saying about their quarterback.
