Video shows Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes address Chiefs players after Sunday’s win
The Chiefs’ first possession of Sunday’s 44-23 win over the 49ers ended with an interception by quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Six of the next seven drives ended with touchdowns. And on the one that wasn’t a touchdown, the Chiefs actually reached the end zone, but a questionable penalty negated the score. A missed field-goal attempt ended that drive.
After such a lopsided victory, it was only natural for the Chiefs to be in a good mood, and that happiness was evident on the face of coach Andy Reid as he addressed the team in the locker room.
“How ‘bout that game?” Reid asked as he smiled. “I love San Francisco!”
Mahomes told the team to rest and then be ready to get back to work after the team’s bye week.
“Great job today. Get off your feet next week. Come back locked in,” Mahomes said.
Tight end Travis Kelce could be heard imploring his teammates: “Same energy! Same energy all year!”
The Chiefs shared this video of the postgame scene.
