If you are watching HBO’s “Ballers,” it’s possible you saw a local actor making his screen debut in Sunday’s episode, which was the third of the season.

Yes, that was Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer.

“Ballers” focuses on Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who plays a former football star who is trying to make his way as a financial adviser to NFL players, mainly in Miami.

In Sunday’s episode of the drama/comedy, his firm hosts a huge party on a yacht.

It was at the party that the viewer caught a glimpse of Hosmer watching the shenanigans of the main characters.

Joseph Krutel, an associate producer on the show, said it would make sense for the financial advisers to have professional baseball players as clients. Krutel said that Hosmer “jumped at the chance” to make a cameo.

“Eric is a great guy, a good friend, and I’m glad that he was able to do it,” Krutel said.

“He loved the experience, being opposite of Dwayne and the rest of the guys. It was like a real Hollywood experience. He loved it.”

The scene was shot in Miami Beach in January. The party took place on a boat that Krutel said is owned by Bill Dean, a wealthy Washington D.C. businessman.

Hosmer lives in south Florida in the offseason, so Krutel figured he’d ask Hosmer to join the party, even if it was fictional.

“Eric showed up on set, we put him through makeup and like a typical movie star, and he went to wardrobe,” Krutel said. “We asked him on set and away we went.”

The show has a number of athletes make cameos, including Jeremy Shockey and DeSean Jackson, Antonio Brown, Victor Cruz and Giancarlo Stanton.

Krutel said that the producers are open to having Hosmer return again next season -- if Hosmer’s schedule allows.
