For Pete's Sake

Chiefs’ Marquez Valdes-Scantling pulled epic prank on rookie Skyy Moore. ‘I almost died’

A group of Chiefs players got together Saturday for a rookie dinner in the Power & Light District, and it was a night to remember.

But after finishing his meal, wide receiver Skyy Moore wasn’t feeling so great. It had nothing to do with the food. He was a victim of a prank perpetrated by fellow receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

Moore was handed a false check for everyone’s dinner and, well, this would’ve made almost anyone’s stomach drop. The tab: $22,730.

In an Instagram video, Moore said he was told his credit card also was declined three times when he tried to pay. Moore soon learned Valdes-Scantling was behind the whole thing.

“Bro, my stomach dropped,” Moore said. “I’m like, ‘What???

Moore later added: “I almost died, bro. ... They gave me a fake receipt. I was just going to have to leave. I wouldn’t have been able to carry that ”

Moore said the check was not real, and the actual one for the dinner was considerably less expensive. Valdes-Scantling paid for that bill.

Moore was feeling relieved.

That’s the stuff of legends, and they’ll be talking about it in the Chiefs locker room for quite some time.
