Tight end Travis Kelce is proving to be an uplifting presence at Chiefs training camp.

Kelce has been cheering for teammates who do something big, and he even has applauded when a rookie broke up a pass. And that particular throw was to Kelce.

During Thursday’s practice, rookie cornerback Joshua Williams was guarding Kelce when a pass was thrown their way. Kelce appeared to be in great position to make the grab, but Williams broke it up at the last second.

Kelce pointed at Williams, who was a fourth-round pick out of Fayetteville State, and then clapped. Here is the video from KC Sports Network.

Williams wasn’t able to stop receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster from making a catch, although that was more about the catch than the defense.

Here is another look at the grab fromKC Sports Network, and Kelce had a great celebration of his teammate’s unlikely catch.
