Carlos Dunlap played in just 38% of the Seattle Seahawks’ defensive snaps a year ago, but he still collected 8 1/2 sacks.

Chris Jones led the Chiefs with nine sacks in the 2021 season, while Frank Clark had 4 1/2 and Mike Danna and Derrick Nnadi each had three.

Dunlap, 33, signed a one-year contract with the Chiefs on Thursday, and if he can replicate his sack number, he’ll be a welcome addition to Kansas City’s defense.

After a slow start to the 2021 season, Dunlap finished with a flourish. He collected seven sacks in the Seahawks’ final four games. That included two in the regular-season finale when he faced the Cardinals and elusive quarterback Kyler Murray.

Dunlap also had 14 quarterback hits, a forced fumble and seven passes defended in the 2021 season.

Here are some of Dunlap’s highlights from last season, via YouTube user Seattle Squad.

Nick Jacobs of KSHB-TV shared a photo from Dunlap’s Instagram account, and it appears he will wear the same jersey number as last season.
