It wasn’t quite an Anthony Sherman entrance to training camp, but when Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes showed up Friday in St. Joseph, Missouri, he turned heads for a couple of reasons.

First, there was Mahomes’ choice of clothing.

Mahomes was wearing a Kansas City Monarchs jersey and shorts, which the independent league baseball team (and others) loved seeing.

Chances are, you didn’t see the second reason for people taking notice (unless you clicked on the tweet). There is a large tattoo on the lower part of Mahomes’ left leg.

Here is a 360-degree view of the tattoo, via Twitter user Zack Eisen:

Those photos are from Mahomes’ Insta story and he wrote: “Work in progress...”

On the front of Mahomes’ leg there is an image of a person walking up a stairway toward a large cross. On the back is a red rose, while the side view of the tattoo shows a handprint and footprint, which likely are from his daughter, Sterling.
