Viral video shows Joey Votto recording TikTok video for young fan before Reds game

Screengrab of Bally Sports Cincinnati Twitter video

Cincinnati first baseman Joey Votto went hitless with a walk in four plate appearances Monday in the Reds’ 5-4 victory against the Arizona Diamondbacks in Phoenix.

But Votto was a hit with baseball fans around the country on Monday for what he did before the game.

A young fan had a sign at the game asking Votto to record a TikTok video, and he obliged, even working out a few dance moves. That included the Griddy dance.

Bally Sports Cincinnati’s Jim Day reported on the 12-year-old fan’s request and the network shared some of the routine in a video that has gone viral. Now perhaps the TikTok video will go viral, too.

Votto put some work into this and made a lifelong memory for this baseball fan.
