For Pete's Sake

Giants’ Twitter account had a ‘It’s Always Sunny’ theme for team’s game in Philadelphia

There is at least one fan of “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” on the San Francisco Giants social media team.

How else to explain the series of tweets Tuesday from the team’s account before, during and after the Giants’ 7-4 win over the Phillies in Philadelphia?

The Giants’ Twitter account shared the starters for the game by overlaying the player names on the opening credits of the FX show starring Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton, Kaitlin Olson and Danny DeVito.

Former Royals pitcher Jakob Junis made the start, so he got top billing.

After a nice catch, the Giants referred to Charlie Kelly’s dating profile in which he professed to loving milk steak and ghouls, while disliking people’s knees.

A highlight of Luis Gonzalez’s two-run double made reference to Charlie’s not-so-brilliant “Kitten Mittens” idea.

Mac’s “stride, stride, stride, stride, execute” didn’t help for getting out of an empty pool, but it fit in well with this tweet.

After the game, the Giants tweeted a photo of Joc Pederson and used a quote from the show: “You know what they say, nobody parties like a JOCkey.”

The only thing missing was a reference to the McPoyles, but this was good stuff.
