‘I’m not crying .. you are.’ Former Kansas players celebrate Jayhawks’ national title

The crowd at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Monday was populated with a number of former Kansas Jayhawks men’s basketball players.

Many more were glued to their televisions as the Jayhawks made history by winning the program’s fourth NCAA championship with a 72-69 win over North Carolina.

Players at the game and elsewhere shared their thoughts on Twitter about the Jayhawks winning their first title since 2008.

Here is what was being said.

Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid tweeted: “NATIONAL CHAMPS #RockChalk”

Frank Mason wrote: “What a great day to be a Jayhawk.” He also quote tweeted a photo of coach Bill Self with an emoji of a goat.

Devonte’ Graham tweeted this: “OMG !!!!!!!!!!! OMG !!!!!!! I’m not crying .. you are !! ROCK CHALK !”

Landen Lucas always had faith KU would win and tweeted: “Never in doubt right?? #RockChalk”

Wayne Selden was fired up when he wrote: “ROCK MF CHALKKKKK !!! MF CHAMPIONS !!!”

Mario Little tweeted: “Congrats coach!!! RockChalk Foe-ever 2022NationalChamps”

Markieff Morris wrote: “We did it!!!!”

Perry Ellis summed up things nicely from a KU perspective: “Wow!! What a game! Proud to be a Jayhawk. Rock chalk!”
