Tyreek Hill writes farewell message to Chiefs fans, coaches and his ‘brothers for life’
Wide receiver Tyreek Hill played in the postseason in each of his six seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs. That included two Super Bowls, including one the Chiefs won against the 49ers.
After that Super Bowl LIV victory, Hill took part in the parade and celebration.
Hill, who was traded Wednesday to the Miami Dolphins, was a three-time All-Pro and made the Pro Bowl in each season with the Chiefs.
As he leaves for Florida with a boatload of memories, Hill took time to share his thoughts on his tenure with the Chiefs in a Twitter message.
“Today starts a new beginning,” Hill wrote. “I’m very excited to be joining the Miami Dolphins and get to work. However, it’s hard thinking about the memories, people and fans that made my time in Kansas City so great.”
Hill then thanked his family and kids for their support. He wrote about being grateful to those who supported his foundation, too.
Then Hill turned to his former coaches, mentioning head coach Andy Reid, offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy and running backs coach Greg Lewis.
“Thank you to the Chiefs organization for believing in me. I’ll never forget getting the call in 2016 that my dream to play in the NFL was coming true,” Hill wrote. “I worked hard every day to show my appreciation for you taking a chance on me. To Coach Reid, Coach Bieniemy and Coach Lewis, thank you for what you have taught me not only about football but about life.”
Hill shared his thoughts on Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Demarcus Robinson and Gehrig Dieter, as well as others who played with him on the Chiefs.
“Thank you to Pat, Kelce, Demarcus, and Dieter along with all my teammates,” Hill wrote. “I’m proud to have taken the field with each of you. You are what made each day worth it. We are brothers for life!”
And finally, Hill gave Chiefs Kingdom a shout out.
“To the fans, thank you for your support. Playing for you has been one of the greatest things I have done in my life. Your energy, passion and loyalty for the team is indescribable. It was an honor to play in front of you,” Hill wrote.
“Kansas City will always hold a special place in my heart!”
