Oddsmakers are bullish on chances of Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes winning hardware in ‘22

Following the Rams’ 23-20 win over the Bengals in Super Bowl LVI, a few Chiefs players tweeted messages saying they were ready to get to work ahead of the 2022 season.

Defensive tackle Chris Jones predicted the Chiefs would return to the Super Bowl, and the oddsmakers like their chances, too.

Here’s a look at what various bookmakers are saying about who are the favorites to lift the Lombardi Trophy on Feb. 12, 2023 at State Farm Stadium.

The Sports Illustrated Sportsbook has the Chiefs as favorites to win it all. They have 6-1 odds (+600), followed by the Bills at 7-1 (+700), Rams 10-1 (+1000) and Bengals 21-2 (+1050).

The Fox Bet Sportsbook gives the Chiefs the best chance of winning the Super Bowl next season. Close behind are the Bills.

But the Chiefs are slightly behind the Bills according to FanDuel’s odds. Buffalo is at 7-1 (+700) and the Chiefs are at 15-2 (+750). The Rams are next at 12-1 (+1200), followed by the Packers and Cowboys 13-1 (+1300).

The Action Network has the Chiefs and Bills as the co-favorites heading into the 2022 season. They are listed at 15-2, followed by the Rams at 10-1, and the Cowboys and 49ers are at 14-1.

Here are the teams with the best odds at Caesers Sportsbook: The Chiefs are first at 13-2, followed by Buffalo 7-1, the Rams 10-1, Bengals 12-1, 49ers 14-1 and Packers 15-1.

MVP talk

For all the chatter about how Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was “broken” during the 2021 season or that other teams had “figured him out,” he still had a tremendous season.

Mahomes threw for 4,839 yards with 37 touchdown passes, and the oddsmakers are bullish on his chances to be the MVP next season.

The Fox Bet Sportsbook gave Mahomes the best chance of winning the award.

Caesers lists Mahomes and the Green Bay Packers’ Aaron Rodgers as co-favorites to be the NFL MVP.
