KC Chiefs players roast Bengals’ Eli Apple for his struggles in Super Bowl LVI
The Rams’ game-winning touchdown drive in Super Bowl LVI was a nightmare for Bengals cornerback Eli Apple.
First, Apple was called for pass interference in the end zone, giving the Rams a first down at the 1-yard line. On the very next play, LA quarterback Matthew Stafford threw a touchdown pass to Cooper Kupp and the Rams won 23-20.
Guarding Kupp on the touchdown was Apple. It was Kupp’s second touchdown of the game, and the other came against Apple too.
Chiefs fans may know Apple for his comments about KC wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Mecole Hardman after the AFC Championship Game. Apple called Hill a baby and said he and Hardman could call for tickets to Super Bowl.
Hardman had this to say Sunday as he shared a video of his Super Bowl LIV ring: “@EliApple. It’s cool big bro! You might get one of these one day but in the mean time just go get better at your craft”
Hill and defensive tackle Khalen Saunders had some fun at Apple’s expense, too:
Chiefs safety Armani Watts likely also was talking about Apple with this message.
Other NFL offensive players also reveled in Apple’s struggles toward the end of the Super Bowl.
