For Pete's Sake

Kansas City Chiefs safety Juan Thornhill inducted into his high school’s hall of fame

Here’s a fact Chiefs fans may not know about safety Juan Thornhill: he was a two-way player at his high school in Virginia, and was a quarterback when on offense.

According to Altavista High School’s website, Thornhill threw for 1,299 yards and 15 touchdowns as a senior and helped the Colonels win a pair of state championships. That was one fewer than Altavista won in basketball with Thornhill.

You don’t have to search long to find highlights of Thornhill dunking. It explains why he had an amazing 44-inch vertical jump at the NFL Combine.

Thornhill graduated from Altavista in 2015, and was inducted into its hall of the fame earlier this week.

“It’s truly an honor to be inducted into Altavista High School’s Hall of Fame last night. Thank you to all of Colonel Country,” Thornhill wrote on Instagram, while sharing photos of his big night.
