KC Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ merchandise remains a hot seller, NFLPA says
While the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost in the NFL Divisional playoff round, quarterback Tom Brady is going out on top.
Brady, who announced his retirement this month, was No. 1 on the NFLPA Top 50 Player Sales list, which tabulated officially licensed NFL player merchandise sold between March 1 and Nov. 30, 2021. Second on the list is Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was 18th on the list.
Mahomes was second in jersey sales behind Brady. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott ranked third, followed by the Bills’ Josh Allen and Patriots’ Mac Jones.
In bobblehead sales, Mahomes again was second behind Brady.
But Mahomes was first in sales of wall decals and cutouts, along with headbands, calendars, medical scrubs and “collegiate co-brand drinkware.”
The NFLPA said the sales list encompasses “all officially licensed, NFL player-branded merchandise sold from online and traditional retail outlets.” That includes jerseys, hoodies, T-shirts, collectible figures, trading cards, drinkware, pet products and more, the NFLPA said.
The retail store Lids shared its look at jersey sales by state, and Mahomes was No. 1 in Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas and Nebraska.
