Like other current and former Chiefs, Ravens wide receiver Sammy Watkins made the case for Kansas City offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy becoming an NFL head coach.

“Any team that grabs him as a head coach is forever changed..!” Watkins wrote Tuesday on Twitter after the Saints passed on Bieniemy.

Watkins also deleted a tweet that seemed to indicate the Chiefs might be holding back Bieniemy.

A day earlier, a Chiefs fan tweeted at Watkins saying he hoped a return to the Chiefs was in the works this offseason.

Watkins’ response: “Let’s go…!..!”

Because he signed a one-year contract with Baltimore last year, Watkins likely will become an unrestricted free agent. In 13 games with the Ravens, Watkins had 27 receptions for 394 yards and a touchdown.

In his three seasons with the Chiefs, Watkins played in 34 games, catching 129 passes for 1,613 yards and eight touchdowns. In the postseason, he had 25 receptions for 477 yards and a touchdown in six games.

Chiefs fans on Twitter had a mixed response to the idea of Watkins returning to Kansas City as another option for quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

What do you think? Would you be in favor of Watkins coming back to the Chiefs? Would Watkins be good for Mahomes and the offense? Vote below and/or leave a comment.
