Washington owner Daniel Snyder stepped to the microphone Wednesday morning and announced “Welcome to not the best kept secret in D.C. … a day in which we embark on a new chapter as the Washington Commanders.”

A news chopper had zoomed in on the interior of the team’s facility Tuesday night and it was clear the Commanders had been chosen as the new nickname for the Washington Football Team.

That came a day after former Washington quarterback Joe Theismann accidentally leaked the name.

Hence the joke from Snyder.

But many NFL fans were hoping the joke was the Commanders nickname, and that Snyder would reveal something new. He didn’t, as the team released a hype video and gave fans a look at the uniforms the team will wear starting with the 2022 season.

While some liked the name and uniforms, many others were, at best, unimpressed.

What are your thoughts on the new team name and look?
