For Pete's Sake

Here is what Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes said to Bengals’ Joe Burrow after Sunday’s game

Following the Chiefs’ overtime victory against Buffalo on Jan. 23, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes made a point of finding the Bills’ Josh Allen.

Mahomes again made it a point to speak with his counterpart Sunday, this time after the Chiefs had lost to the Bengals in the AFC Championship Game at Arrowhead Stadium.

It should be no surprise, but NFL Films was on hand to capture the moment when Mahomes talked with Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow.

Mahomes told Burrow: “Nine! Way to play, man. Good luck, my brother. Go win it all,” as the Bengals advanced to Super Bowl LVI.

Rather than leave the field immediately, Mahomes took the time to congratulate the Bengals. This was a cool moment, although certainly bittersweet for Chiefs fans.
