In the first half of Saturday’s game against the Broncos, the Chiefs struggled at times simply keeping their footing on the turf at Empower Field at Mile High.

It actually started before the game as kicker Harrison Butker slipped while practicing a field-goal attempt.

Butker had issues during the game too.

After the Chiefs’ first-quarter touchdown, Butker fell while kicking off, and that gave the Broncos great field position for a drive that ended with a touchdown.

In the second quarter, guard Joe Thuney slipped and fell on a pass play, which meant quarterback Patrick Mahomes couldn’t step up to throw. Mahomes was sacked on the play.

The slippery field didn’t make Chiefs fans happy.
