For Pete's Sake

NFL Films video shows Chiefs had funny reaction to coat that caught fire on sideline

The Chiefs were kicking off Sunday following a first-quarter touchdown in Cincinnati when quarterback Patrick Mahomes called tight end Travis Kelce over for a quick chat.

Wide receiver Tyreek Hill was sitting on the bench and Mahomes leaned down to show the pass catchers something on his tablet.

Suddenly a teammate yelled and jumped up from the bench as it appeared snow had begun to fall. But that “snow” was coming from the Chiefs sideline.

With temperatures in the 30s, many members of the Chiefs were wearing coats and there were heaters on the sideline. That proved to be a bad combination, as CBS Sports’ cameras showed a coat had caught fire.

Fox 4 sports anchor Harold Kuntz shared a clip of the moment.

NFL Films was on the scene and showed the funny reaction from the Chiefs players.

“That boy booty cheeks and ass hot as ...” one player said. “You can see your hammies, dog”

Another added that they thought there was a bird on the sideline. You know, because of the feathers from the coat.

This was a funny moment.
