When Christian Braun drained a three-pointer in the first half of Kansas’ 74-63 win at Oklahoma State on Tuesday night, one bettor must have thought it wasn’t his or her night.

According to Twitter user Underdog Betting Specialist, a bettor wagered $400 that neither the Jayhawks nor the Cowboys would score 30 points in the first half of the game. Braun’s three gave KU a 29-15 lead with 9 minutes, 12 seconds to play in the opening half.

At that point, the Jayhawks seemed poised to score at least 40 points in the half.

But after Braun’s three-pointer, the Jayhawks went cold, missing 16 straight shots and having three more blocked. The last shot attempt of the opening half was a three-pointer by Ochai Agbaji, and that was missed with 7 seconds left in the half.

Remarkably, that bettor had won $26,400 when the Jayhawks (and Cowboys) failed to reach 30 points as the halftime score was 29-29.

What makes this even more remarkable is KU made 70.8% of its shots in the second half. But the timing of the shooting slump was perfect for one bettor.
