Current and former Chiefs mourn the death of former Broncos receiver Demaryius Thomas
The shocking death of former Denver Broncos receiver Demaryius Thomas reverberated around the NFL on Friday morning.
Police told thee Associated Press that initial reports show Thomas, 33, died of a medical issue. The AP story said Thomas’ cousin, who grew up with Thomas, “believes he died from a seizure.”
Thomas, who last played with the New York Jets in 2019, was part of the Broncos’ Super Bowl 50 winning team, and he had an 80-yard catch-and-run touchdown on the first play of overtime to beat the Steelers in a wild-card game after the 2011 season.
Current and former Chiefs players took to Twitter to share their thoughts and mourn Thomas’ passing.
Former Chiefs linebacker Derrick Johnson wrote: “Life is really too short, DT will be truly missed. DT always had the biggest smile in the room at the Pro Bowls. RIP #DemaryiusThomas”
