Chiefs’ Travis Kelce passes Gronk on NFL’s list of all-time tight end receiving yards

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce didn’t have a reception in the first half of Sunday’s 19-9 win over the Dallas Cowboys, but he found the end zone on a 4-yard run in the opening quarter.

And Kelce dominated in the second half, catching five passes for 74 yards, giving him a career total of 8,702 receiving yards.

Kelce moved past the Buccaneers’ Rob Gronkowski (8,668 yards) and former Panthers star Greg Olsen (8,683 yards) on the career receiving yards list. Kelce now has the fifth-most receiving yards by a tight end in NFL history.

The only tight ends ahead of Kelce are former Chiefs/Falcons star Tony Gonzalez (15,127 yards), former Cowboys/Raiders tight end Jason Witten (13,046), former Chargers standout Antonio Gates (11,841) and ex-Broncos star Shannon Sharpe (10,060).

Additionally, Kelce moved past former Raiders star Cliff Branch on the career receiving yards list (regardless of position), and Kelce is 80th all-time.

Kelce has caught a pass in 121 consecutive games, the second longest streak in Chiefs franchise history behind Tony Gonzalez’s 131.

Mahomes passes Kenney

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw for 260 yards and has 17,352 passing yards in his career. That moved him into fourth all-time in Chiefs history, passing Bill Kenney (17,277), who played for Kansas City from 1979-88.

Mahomes has a good chance to vault to third in franchise history in the Chiefs’ next game (Dec. 5 against Denver). That spot is held by Alex Smith (17,608 yards).
