KU football team ended Big 12 road losing streak but needs to work on its celebrations
Years of pent up frustration were released on Saturday night when the Kansas football team defeated Texas 57-56 in overtime in Austin.
The Jayhawks’ 56-game Big 12 road losing streak, which spanned 13 years, was over. KU, which was a 31-point underdog, “got their first outright win as an underdog of 24 or more points since the 1978 FBS/FCS split. They entered Saturday 0-100 in such games over that span,” ESPN Stats & Info noted.
Yep, 100 straight losses came to an end.
So perhaps it’s no surprise the celebration after KU’s game-winning two-point conversion didn’t go as well as one might hope.
Kansas fullback Jared Casey ran to celebrate when he jumped and was hit with a forearm to the facemask ... by teammate Jeremy Webb. No one was injured and to be honest, this is funny:
Even KU and its fans got a laugh out of the celebration gone wrong.
