This was Mitch Holthus’ call of Patrick Mahomes’ game-clinching pass to Tyreek Hill
The Chiefs’ 13-7 win over the Packers ended with a glimmer of hope for Kansas City fans.
While the Chiefs were held to 237 yards of total offense, had two scoring drives of 25 yards or fewer, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw for a career-low 166 passing yards, the final 13 of that total were electric.
The Chiefs faced a third-and-10 from the Green Bay 48-yard line after the two-minute warning. The Packers were hoping to get the ball back and potentially drive for a winning score.
Instead, there was a moment of brilliance from Mahomes, who flashed his old magic ways.
Mahomes escaped the Packers’ pass rush by rolling to his right and threw a dart to wide receiver Tyreek Hill for 13 yards. The first down clinched the victory, and Mitch Holthus, the “Voice of the Chiefs,” was fired up.
This was Holthus’ radio call, which was shared by Twitter user Clay Wendler:
Many Chiefs fans were heartened to see that play and they shared their thoughts on Twitter.
Here are some examples of what they were saying.
