Vote now: Will the Chiefs or another team win the AFC West this season?
No team has won six straight AFC West championships, but the Chiefs have an opportunity accomplish that feat this season.
Through nine games of the season, it’s clear that won’t be as easy as it’s been the previous two years when no other West team had a winning record. And it’s not just one team challenging the Chiefs this season.
No, the entire AFC West has a winning record, and a half-game separates the first-place Chargers and Raiders (both have a 5-3 record) from the third-place Chiefs and Broncos (both are 5-4).
The Chiefs will play Las Vegas on Sunday and again later this season, and they will play the Broncos twice and the Chargers once. So the Chiefs will have an opportunity to deal damage to other West teams.
According to PlayoffStatus.com, the Chiefs have the most difficult schedule to finish the season. The Chargers’ slate ranks as the fourth-most difficult, the Raiders’ schedule is sixth-hardest and the Broncos have the 10th-most demanding set of games.
At this point, every team in the West has to like its chances at winning the division. Which team do you think will wear the crown when the regular season ends on Jan. 9, 2022?
