Despite win, Kansas City fans have questions about Chiefs offense and Patrick Mahomes

The bottom line is the Chiefs got the win on Sunday, beating the Green Bay Packers 13-7 at Arrowhead Stadium.

But Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw for just 166 yards, completing 20 of 37 passes with a touchdown and no interceptions.

It was the fewest passing yards in a full game for Mahomes. The previous low was 174 yards in a 31-21 win over the Chargers on Dec. 29, 2019. That was the seventh time in the last eight games that Mahomes had thrown for fewer than 300 yards, too.

Although he came up with some big throws on the Chiefs’ final drive, fans wondered what was happening with Mahomes and the offense.

On Reddit, one user wrote: “EA curse didn’t really work on Mahomes the first time so the second time was the charm.”

Another wrote: “So since I missed the first 3 1/2 quarters, why isn’t it like 50 to nothing? We have Mahomes and Kelce and Hill and it’s like 13 to 7? Just asking a question”

A Reddit user wrote: “Definitely some drops, but also missed open receivers. Just not remotely like the Mahomes we know from before.”

Another wrote: “Hopefully that last play gives Mahomes some sort of confidence. He needs it.”
