For Pete's Sake

Chiefs-Packers game will air in all 50 states, with Fox’s top crew calling the action

When the NFL announced the divisional rotation for the new 17th game of the season, there was one in particular that jumped out to fans.

It was Aaron Rodgers and the Packers coming to Arrowhead Stadium to face Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Some who thought the game was destined for a national TV audience were surprised when the NFL scheduled it for Fox Sports.

As it turns out, it nearly is a national game as people in all 50 states will see the Chiefs and Packers play, even though Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers was ruled out on Wednesday after testing positive for COVID-19.

Every person in 47 states will see the game. Because Fox also has the Cardinals-49ers game airing at the same time, most of Arizona and California will see those teams, along with part of Nevada.

Because the Chiefs-Packers is Fox Sports’ “America’s Game of the Week,” Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will call the action with Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi working as sideline reporters.

In Kansas City, fans will see two AFC West foes in Sunday’s early games. The Raiders at Giants game begins at noon and airs on KCTV-5. The Broncos-Cowboys game also kicks off at noon and will air on Fox 4.
