New Chiefs receiver Josh Gordon is getting to know KC thanks to Eric Stonestreet
Chiefs coach Andy Reid once said Kansas City is a great place to live if you are a “forkturion,” that is some who likes to eat.
Since signing with the Chiefs late last month, wide receiver Josh Gordon has been getting accustomed to the team’s playbook while also venturing out in Kansas City.
One person has been helping Gordon get to know the city: actor and “Big Slick” co-host Eric Stonestreet.
Last week, Stonestreet took Gordon to Garōzzo’s in Kansas City.
The verdict from Gordon?
At a news conference on Friday, Gordon was asked about the tweet that showed him with Stonestreet, the two-time Emmy Award winner, and getting acquainted with Kansas City.
“It’s been a rapid, I guess, acceptance to Kansas City and it’s been well-received by me. I love it,” Gordon told reporters on Friday. “It’s a great restaurant with good food. Stonestreet is a great guy, he’s showing me the ropes a little bit as far as the community goes, what places to try to check off the list when I get time.
“But it’s been amazing to have that type of support my first week here. (I) enjoy the camaraderie of the city and the community and I look to get behind that just as much as they do me.”
