NFL Network analyst still can’t believe Chiefs’ two-point conversion was successful
For a two-point conversion pass to be successful, two things are essential: the throw and the catch.
Other factors can impact the conversion try, but if the pass is off the mark or the ball is dropped, well, the play is a failure.
That’s why Peter Schrager, the “Good Morning Football” analyst on the NFL Network, was still talking Wednesday about the Chiefs’ two-point conversion three days earlier against the Chargers.
Schrager called Patrick Mahomes’ 54-yard touchdown pass to Tyreek Hill “the play of the game,” but he also took a closer look at the two-point conversion.
“Look at this pass right here from Pat Mahomes, across his body, across three defenders for a must-have two-point conversion,” Schrager said. “Look at that. It’s insane. How do you have the courage to throw that?
“And wait until you see the catch by (Mecole) Hardman on the replay. Look at Hardman’s catch. Look at the throw, look at the catch by Mecole Hardman ... finger tips into the legs, somehow captures it.”
It was amazing. Here is the clip of Schrager gushing over the play:
