A fight broke out among fans at the Browns game despite COVID restrictions

As you’ve likely noticed from the Progressive Insurance commercials featuring Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield, FirstEnergy Field in Cleveland is a big stadium.

Capacity is tad under 68,000, but Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine limited the number of fans for Thursday’s Browns-Bengals game to 6,000 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Browns executive vice president Dave Jenkins told Cleveland.com he wanted more fans in the stands but said the team had a chance to show if things went well, attendance would increase for future games.

“It really is important to demonstrate that we execute as our plan says we will,” Jenkins said, “to then have the next discussion.”

Welp. That next discussion is probably not going to go as Jenkins hoped.

Despite the social distancing, a brawl broke out:
