For Pete's Sake

Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes joins Eric Stonestreet in Zoom call to celebrate NFL’s return

Judging by what’s being shared by Chiefs fans on social media, Thursday can’t get here soon enough.

That’s when the Chiefs will play host to the Houston Texans at Arrowhead Stadium and kick off the 2020 NFL season. The Chiefs also will raise a banner to signify they are the Super Bowl LIV champions.

Actor Eric Stonestreet, the Kansas City, Kansas native and “Big Slick” co-host, channeled that fan energy for a fun video with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The two chatted on a Zoom call, and Stonestreet dressed just like Mahomes.

“I’m going to be real, real honest with you Pattycakes, I haven’t slept in five weeks. I’m ready to have football back in my life. I’m ready to have you back in my life. I’m ready to see the championship banner in Kansas City,” Stonestreet told Mahomes as he began to sob. “Hold on just a second. ... I don’t know where they’re going to put it. I’m just ready to see the banner raised.”

He’s not alone, right?

Stonestreet, the “Modern Family” star, then showed off a slightly disturbing collection of fan items.

It’s a fun video:
