For Pete's Sake

Rex Hudler’s call on home run by Royals’ Salvador Perez was peak Rex Hudler hilarity

Just as you never know what you’ll see at a game, the same is true when Rex Hudler is calling a game for Fox Sports Kansas City.

Hudler’s unbridled enthusiasm about baseball — and life in general — sometimes can lead to a comical moment, such as calling the moon “a beautiful planet” or asking if he’s the only one who’s ever walked into a pole (“that’s a rude awakening.”)

On Saturday night, there was another funny Hudler moment and fans loved it.

Hudler was hoping Royals catcher Salvador Perez would hit a ball on the nose when he did just that in the fourth inning. Perez crushed a Cody Stashak pitch that traveled 436 feet and over the center-field fence at Kauffman Stadium.

“Oh my nose!” Hudler cried out when Perez hit the ball.

The call delighted some Royals fans:
