Pirates-Twins game was temporarily delayed after this drone was spotted over the field

Here’s the one thing you can count on in 2020: you never know what weird thing is going to happen.

We’ve had the pandemic, zombie cicadas, murder hornets and the Saharan Dust Cloud, to name a few.

On Tuesday, there was a Drone Delay at a Major League Baseball game.

The Twins left the field with two outs in the top of the fifth inning of their game against the Pirates at Target Field in Minneapolis when the unauthorized drone suddenly appeared.

Twitter user handlit33 shared this video:

You never know what you’ll see at the ballpark, but this is a new one.

“What’ve we got here?” Twins radio announcer Cory Provus said as the players headed for the dugout.

“I have no idea,” analyst Dan Gladden said.

“This is the first. We have a drone delay,” Provus said.

Players in the Twins bullpen threw balls at the drone to try and knock it from the air, the Twins broadcasters said.

Marney Gellner, a Twins broadcaster, shared this video:

Here are some photos of the drone:

The Pirates, playing an Interleague game, shared this funny tweet:
