Cubs fans wanted to make an immediate trade after Josh Staumont’s dominant outing

Other than the pointed comments Cubs pitcher Alec Mills made about the Royals following Monday’s game, nothing was more head-turning than Josh Staumont’s performance.

Staumont struck out the side in the bottom of the eighth inning at Wrigley Field on 13 pitches.

Javier Baez, Willson Contreras and Kyle Schwarber had no chance against Staumont, who reached 101.1 mph with a pitch, painted corners and had a curveball that was untouchable.

Cubs fans were blown away by Staumont’s performance, and many said they’d like to make a trade.
