Patrick Mahomes is No. 4 player on NFL 100 list, and Chiefs fans are not happy
The NFL Network revealed the league’s top 100 players over four nights of coverage this week with the top 10 coming Wednesday night.
For the second year in a row, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was unveiled as the NFL’s No. 4 player.
Mahomes is the sixth Chiefs player to make the list, joining tight end Travis Kelce (No. 18), receiver Tyreek Hill (No. 22), defensive back Tyrann Mathieu (No. 39), defensive lineman Chris Jones (No. 52) and defense end Frank Clark (No. 95).
The rankings are voted on by the league players, and a year ago Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald was No. 1, while Mahomes was fourth.
Mahomes tweeted a single emoji that seemed to indicate he’d use the ranking as motivation:

As the Chiefs noted, good things happened after Mahomes was ranked fourth last year.
Fans, however, were not happy, especially because Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson (No. 1) and Seattle’s Russell Wilson (No. 2) finished ahead of Mahomes.
ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky, a former NFL quarterback, was baffled to see Mahomes at No. 4:
Louis Riddick, who is also with ESPN, also wasn’t buying Mahomes at No. 4:
