For Pete's Sake

Preview of NFL 100 shows Ezekiel Elliott lavishing praise on Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes

The NFL Network is counting down the top 100 players in the league this week, and it’ll be a few days until we hear more about Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Yahoo Sports national NFL writer Terez A. Paylor reported last week that six Chiefs are on the list.

Per Arrowhead Pride, the countdown covered players No. 71-100 on Sunday night. On Monday, it’ll be Nos. 41-60 and Tuesday will be Nos. 11-30. The top 10 will be revealed on Wednesday.

Common sense says this didn’t need confirmation, but Mahomes is on the list. And the NFL Network teased his appearance by showing what Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott had to say about Mahomes.

In a video, Elliott said he told a friend if any quarterback could lead a comeback from 24-0 in the playoffs, it is Mahomes. He did just that in a 51-31 win over the Texans in an AFC Divisional playoff game in January.

“He got a cannon, yeah,” Elliott said in the video clip. “Pat Mahomes, he’s just special.”

Here is the clip:

It would be a shocker if this clip doesn’t air Wednesday as part of a larger video about Mahomes.

On Sunday night, Chiefs defensive end Frank Clark was revealed at the 95th best player in the NFL. Here is the video that accompanied that announcement:
