For Pete's Sake

NBA players, fans protest Adrian Wojnarowski’s ESPN suspension for Josh Hawley email

The hashtag FreeWoj was trending on Sunday as NBA fans expressed their displeasure over ESPN’s suspension of reporter Adrian Wojnarowski.

The New York Post reported Wojnarowski has been suspended two weeks for his two-word response to an email from the office of Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley: “(Expletive) you.”

Hawley shared a screenshot of what Wojnarowski wrote on Twitter, which led to the punishment.

According to the Washington Post, Wojnarowski attempted Friday to contact Hawley’s office to apologize but did not hear back.

After the suspension became known, Hawley tweeted: “don’t suspend a reporter, ask tough questions of @NBA about their pro-#China, anti-America bias. Start reporting for goodness sake”

Fans also took to Twitter but in support of Wojnarowski. So did some NBA players, including LeBron James:
