Chiefs’ Mecole Hardman eclipsed his top speed from 2019 season at training this week
In some states, the speed limit in a school zone is 15 mph, which would be bad news for much of the Chiefs’ Legion of Zoom.
Naturally, no one is going to ticket Tyreek Hill or his teammates for running above the speed limit. Hill has the fastest recorded time in the NFL’s Next Gen Stats era at 23.24 mph. But in 2019, the only Chiefs player to crack the top 10 list of fastest ball carriers in the NFL was receiver Mecole Hardman.
On a 63-yard touchdown reception from Patrick Mahomes in a regular-season game against the Tennessee Titans, Hardman topped out at 21.87 mph.
Could he beat that speed in his second year as a pro? Perhaps.
This week, Hardman began working with former Chiefs running back Derrick Blaylock, who is with Armed Sports Performance and goes by the Instagram handle of Speed Guru.
The Checkdown shared Blaylock’s Instagram story of Hardman hitting 23 mph on a treadmill:
Blaylock thinks Hardman can top even that:
Last week, photographer Luke Crabtree shared a video of Hardman working out, and Hardman had a message for his Chiefs teammates. Make sure you look out for Hardman’s car, too:
