Royals release touching video to mark return of Major League Baseball

It took longer than anyone hoped or wanted, but it appears the 2020 Major League Baseball will be coming soon.

The owners and the union agreed on protocols to protect the players’ health during the coronavirus pandemic, ESPN reported, and Major League Baseball is implementing a 60-game schedule. Players should report to camps in their home stadiums next week.

In honor of the game’s return, the Royals released a great video that was made by team content producer Sam Lutz and narrated by Bob Kendrick, president of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum.

The video tugs at the heartstrings by covering the significant off-the-field events of 2020 while providing a hopeful message.

Here is part of what Kendrick says in the video:

And while we await the return of our great fans to The K, know this

There will be baseball. Major League Baseball. Royals baseball.

There’ll be Soler smashes and Salvy Splashes

The flags will keep flying and the fountains will keep flowing

There’ll be highway robbery and Mondi magic

We’ll keep the line moving and never stop hustling

Our new skipper is locked in and you know this guy (Whit Merrifield) is

From the big cities to the small town, we’re all in this together

Because together we’re always stronger

Because together we’re Always Royal
