Chiefs rookie supports Mississippi State star who won’t play until state flag changes

Mississippi State running back Kylin Hill tweeted Monday he wouldn’t suit up for the Bulldogs unless a change is made to the state flag.

The upper left-hand corner of the Mississippi State flag has the Confederate flag. The NCAA, SEC and Conference USA have all said they won’t hold championship tournaments in Mississippi until the state changes its flag because of that symbol.

Hill made his threat after Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves tweeted that an idea to create a second Mississippi flag “would actually divide our state more.”

A former Bulldogs teammate supported Hill: Chiefs rookie linebacker Willie Gay, Jr. He called on other athletes in Mississippi to take a similar stand as Hill.
