Chiefs’ Tyreek Hill asks for prayers after family member is diagnosed with coronavirus

Many parts of the nation are opening after the coronavirus pandemic shutdown and most major sports leagues have announced plans to return.

Despite that, the number of people who contract the coronavirus continues to climb. The Kansas City area has had five daily triple-digit increases of COVID-19 cases just this month.

Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill warned against people thinking the crisis has passed.

In a Snapchat post, Hill said Tuesday: “Check this out, this is what I need everyone to do, man, do this for me and my family. We’re going through a hard time right now. I hear a lot of people saying, ‘post-corona, post-corona,’ man, but my pops just tested positive for corona, so keep my family in prayers.”

I’m not sure if Hill is talking about his father or his grandfather, but a family member with the coronavirus is scary thing.

Hill is close with his grandfather, who attended the AFC Championship Game at Arrowhead Stadium in January after catching a ride with a Good Samaritan.

Mitchel Summers of WIBW-TV in Topeka shared Hill’s Snapchat video:
