Andy Reid’s views on racial justice get Claire McCaskill’s support (for president)

Chiefs coach Andy Reid could not be more proud of quarterback Patrick Mahomes, defensive back Tyrann Mathieu and the countless others who have vocalized their support for racial justice.

“We’re sitting here with this push on Black Lives Matter,” Reid told reporters Wednesday in a conference call. “And absolutely they matter, man. I think it’s a beautiful thing. I’m in complete support with them. I believe in communication. I believe in what my parents taught me about at times like this — you have large ears, you sit, and you listen, and you learn, and you become better. That’s where I’m at.”

Reid’s unequivocal support for the fight against racism, which has spread around the globe since George Floyd’s death while in police custody, caught the attention of former Missouri senator Claire McCaskill.

She tweeted her support Wednesday night for Reid ... should he run in an election:

Reid seems quite happy in his current job as coach of the defending Super Bowl champions, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility that he could get some votes if he ran for the nation’s highest office.

The support for the Black Lives Matter movement made Reid popular with more people than McCaskill.
