Patrick Mahomes, Tyrann Mathieu join other NFL stars in Black Lives Matter video

On Thursday night, Chiefs defensive back Tyrann Mathieu tweeted a powerful video that also was shared by other NFL stars.

The video features Mathieu, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Saints receiver Michael Thomas, Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott, Browns receiver Odell Beckham Jr., Giants running back Saquon Barkley and other NFL stars.

The message is aimed at the NFL. Here is part of what the players took turns saying:

“So, on behalf of the National Football League, this is what we, the players would like to hear you state: We, the National Football League, condemn racism and the systematic oppression of black people. We, the National Football League, admit wrong in silencing our players from peacefully protesting. We, the National Football League, believe Black Lives Matter.”

The Browns’ Jarvis Landry and Texans’ Deshaun Watson were other players who tweeted the video. The Chiefs’ Tyreek Hill, Derrick Nnadi and Martinas Rankin were among the players who retweeted it.
