Raiders fans are unhappy with timing of Chiefs’ bye in the 2020 season
Last season, the Chiefs’ bye came in Week 12, and they had a chance to be well-rested for a home game against the Raiders.
In 2018, the Chiefs’ bye was also in Week 12 and came before a game against the Raiders in their old home city, Oakland.
The Chiefs played the New York Giants after their bye in 2017. But after a bye in Week 5 of the 2016 season, the Chiefs won 26-10 at Oakland.
So that’s three of the previous four seasons in which the Chiefs faced the Raiders following a bye week. Guess who gets the Chiefs after a bye in 2020? Yep, it’s the Raiders again, and fans of the AFC West rival aren’t happy.
One reason for the Las Vegas supporters’ disgust is coach Andy Reid’s 24-5 record coming off a bye week, including Super Bowl LIV, which the Chiefs won 31-20 against the San Francisco 49ers.
