Clyde Edwards-Helaire’s mother shared heartfelt message after Chiefs drafted her son

Unsurprisingly, Tonge’ Helaire is proud of her son.

After the Chiefs selected LSU running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire with the final pick of the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday night, his mother shared a couple of touching messages on Twitter.

In the first, Helaire wrote: “Congratulations to my son. Mere words can’t explain the joy in my heart and soul. This was an EPIC moment & Well deserved. What GOD has for you ; it’s for you! WE ARE CHIEFS”.

That tweet included video of the moment Edwards-Helaire officially heard his name called by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

In the second tweet, Helaire shared a dream she had on Wednesday night and how it came true. That one involved Edwards-Helaire’s jersey number with the Chiefs and a cute picture of her son as a child.
