For Pete's Sake

State Farm used old ‘SportsCenter’ clip and CGI for a funny ‘Last Dance’ commercial

Viewers enjoyed the first two episodes of ESPN’s “The Last Dance” documentary so much that even the commercials got a positive reaction.

Well, one of them.

State Farm used an old clip from “SportsCenter” featuring Kenny Mayne after the Chicago Bulls won the 1998 NBA Finals for the commercial about the documentary on Michael Jordan.

Mayne then recorded some new audio and thanks to a bit of CGI magic, it appears he’s some sort of modern-day Nostradamus. It was awesome.

“The Chicago Bulls have won their second three-peat,” Mayne says in the commercial. “This is the kind of stuff that ESPN will eventually make a documentary about. They’ll call it something like ‘The Last Dance’ and make it a 10-part series and release it in the year 2020. It’s gonna be lit. You don’t even know what that means yet. While I’m making predictions, jeans will get extra tight, there will a thing called a butt fumble, and this clip will be used to promote the documentary in a State Farm commercial.

“It’s just a hunch.”
